Dr. Herman is leveraging readily available clinical data to improve the practice of medicine, focusing on improving screening for underdiagnosed diseases. Toward these ends, he is developing novel approaches for learning interpretable, transferable, and equitable prediction models using laboratory and other data in electronic health records.
